Introduction

We've created this simple guide to get your restaurant ready for delivery using InhouseDelivery (IHD) and BiteHeist.

When your InhouseDelivery and BiteHeist accounts are connected, all BiteHeist delivery orders will automatically flow through to InhouseDelivery. These can then be dispatched for delivery, either manually or automatically.

Overview

There are 3 key steps to a successful integration:

  1. Create an InhouseDelivery account

  2. Connect your InhouseDelivery and BiteHeist accounts

  3. Configure your BiteHeist delivery service fees

Step 1: Create your InhouseDelivery account:

Go to your partner page: https://www.inhousedelivery.com/partners/biteheist and click on "Create your account". This will take you to the IHD merchant registration page where you can follow the steps to create a new IHD account.

Step 2: Link your BiteHeist account to InhouseDelivery

To link your BiteHeist and InhouseDelivery accounts, you'll need the following details:

  • IHD location code

  • IHD client id

  • IHD client secret

Please reach out to IHD support in order to request this information above.

Once you have the required details, log-in to your BiteHeist account, select the location for your restaurant and navigate to Pickup/Delivery -> 3rd Party. Click the "Enable third party delivery" check box and paste the client id, client secret and location codes into the appropriate fields.

Once you've completed this step, you will start to see your BiteHeist delivery orders appear in your Inhouse Delivery account.

Step 3: Define your service fees

Delivery fees are calculated dynamically based on the customer's address and the distance from the restaurant during customer checkout process. Delivery fee is the raw driver cost and displayed on the checkout screen when the customer is ready to place their order.

Restaurants have the option of adding a service fee for providing delivery service for their customers. Additional service fees can be added in BiteHeist.

Step 4: Configure your InhouseDelivery account

IHD is accessed via the InhouseDelivery app at https://app.inhousedelivery.com/.

Log-in using the e-mail address and password you set when you created your account or given to you by your reseller. Once you have logged in, click on Deliveries in the top menu.

This is where you'll see incoming orders from BiteHeist.

Settings are accessible by clicking the icon on the far righthand side of the Delivery orders screen.

This is where you can edit the settings applicable to your restaurant.

Default note for drivers

This is where you can provide instructions to delivery drivers.

For example, "Pick up the food from the back door" or "Please call upon arrival".

Alerts and Notifications

You can also choose when to be alerted about late pick ups and drop offs.

NB: Settings are specific to Locations. If you have more than one Location, you will need to define your settings for each Location separately.

Step 5: Enter your billing information

Next, enter your billing information.

To find this, click on your Company Name in the top left hand corner of the main menu. Here you'll see an option for Billing.

Click + Add billing details.

Enter your billing name and address.

Finally, choose your desired payment method. We support both ACH direct debit (US) and credit card billing.

You will not be charged anything when you click the Submit button. Your account will only be debited after you start making deliveries using IHD.

Step 6: Start auto-dispatching orders

When you're ready to have InhouseDelivery start auto-dispatching orders, you simply need to switch it 'on'.

You can do this by navigating to the Settings, as highlighted in Step 3, and clicking the toggle beside the Auto-dispatch setting.

Toggling it 'on' means that InhouseDelivery will automatically dispatch orders for deliveries. You will be able to view and manage these deliveries via the dashboard.

If the Auto-dispatch setting remains off, you will need to manually dispatch orders if you wish them to be delivered.

Step 7: Download the InhouseDelivery mobile app

You can also keep an eye on orders via the InhouseDelivery mobile app. To download the mobile apps, follow the links below based on your device.

That's it! With these simple steps you're ready to get started.
